Procter and Gamble set to resume sale of banned cosmetics

SHANGHAI (AFP) — Procter and Gamble plan to resume sales of its Japanese-made SK-II cosmetics line in China after levels of toxic materials found in the products were deemed harmless, a state press report has said. The popular line of SK-II beauty products was pulled from shelves last month after Chinese authorities discovered traces of two toxic metals in its powder, lotion and cleansing oil products.

Citing a joint statement published by the Ministry of Health and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the People's Daily said the SK-II products posed no danger to humans.
