Google dabbles with brokering newspaper ads

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) — Internet titan Google said it would test the money-making potential of using its search savvy to sell advertising in a bevy of US newspapers. "We are launching an alpha test of Google Print Ads, a new web-based marketplace for buying and selling print media," the Mountain View, California, online search engine said in a release.

"It gives newspaper publishers a robust and efficient source of new advertising revenue, and provides marketers a powerful online interface for placing ads in newspapers."
