Hu to meet bilaterally with Bush and Abe at APEC meet

BEIJING (AFP) — Chinese President Hu Jintao will meet with his US and Japanese counterparts at the upcoming summit of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum to be held in Vietnam, an official said. Hu will meet bilaterally with US President George W. Bush and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the informal leadership summit that begins on November 16, Assistant Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai told journalists.
Specific agenda items and the times of the meeting were currently being worked out, he said. Hu would also pay a state visit to Vietnam before the APEC meeting and then continue on to bilateral visits to Laos, India and Pakistan, Cui said.
