Martin sidelined by NBA Nuggets with sore knee

DENVER, United States (AFP) — Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin will be sidelined indefinitely because of soreness in his right knee, the National Basketball Association club announced. Martin, who had suffered with previous troubles in his left knee, produced 19 points and 20 rebounds in his first two games of the season but his right knee swelled and Martin missed Wednesday's 109-107 loss to New York.

Martin said he will need arthroscopic surgery to remove "loose bodies" in the knee. Martin underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee in 2005 after averaging 15.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in his first season with the Nuggets.
