HARARE (AFP) — The Highlanders have clinched the Zimbabwe league title and a place in the 2007 African Champions League with a 4-2 victory over Hwange. Obediah Tarumbwa scored twice as the club from the southern city of Bulawayo raced into a four-goal lead before late defensive lapses produced a scoreline that flattered the home side.

Having won the championship five times in eight years, Highlanders will concentrate on making a greater impact in Africa, where they have yet to reach the pool phase of the Champions League. Motor Action, held goalless by Buymore, lie second, 12 points adrift with three rounds left. © 2006 AFP
