Lou Reed brings 1970s cult album 'Berlin' back to stage

PARIS (AFP) — American rock singer Lou Reed is to revive his cult 1973 album "Berlin", to perform it live on stage in New York in December and Sydney a month later, his RCA label said. French actress Emmanuelle Seigner has been chosen to appear in a film to be screened on stage during the concerts, to feature the entire album which tells the story of two fictional drug addicts in love in the German city of the same name.

She will play the role of Caroline in the film, made by Lola Schnabel, whose father Julian, American designer, painter and director, will be in charge of the stage setting and artistic coordination. Five new pieces are also on the musical line-up for the concerts from December 14-18 at St Ann's Warehouse in New York and in the Australian city in January. Bob...
