Israeli soldiers shoot child playing with toy gun

BETHLEHEM (AFP) — A Palestinian child playing with a plastic rifle has been shot and wounded by Israeli soldiers near Bethlehem in the West Bank. Miras al-Azza, 12, was shot in the belly when Israel soldiers opened fire on a group of children playing with a plastic rifle in the Aydah refugee camp.
The soldiers fired from a military position at the camp's entrance, medical and security sources said Friday. The Israeli army had no immediate comment. © 2006 AFP
