Newcastle's Emre in racism probe

LONDON (AFP) — Newcastle midfielder Emre is at the centre of a racism investigation following his side's 3-0 Premier League defeat last weekend against Everton. Referee Dermot Gallagher, who took charge of the match at Goodison Park, did not hear comments allegedly made by the 26-year-old Turkey international to goalkeeper Tim Howard and defender Joleon Lescott.
