Lions fire defensive coordinator

DETROIT, United States (AFP) — The Detroit Lions, who finished the National Football League season with the worst record in the National Conference, fired defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson. His dismissal follows a season in which only two NFL teams allowed more points than the Lions. Since Matt Millen was named team president in 2001, the Lions are a league-worst 24-72, including this season's 3-13.
