Israeli PM to China for talks with President Hu: official

JERUSALEM (AFP) — Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is to travel next week to China for talks with President Hu Jintao and other senior officials focusing on economic and diplomatic ties, his office said. "The prime minister is travelling on Monday on a three-day visit to Beijing at the invitation of the Communist Party for talks with President Hu and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao," spokeswoman Miri Eisin told AFP.
"The talks will focus on bilateral ties in the economic, technological and agricultural fields," she said. Israel is one of the largest and most important exporters of advanced irrigation and water purification systems to China.
