Saban leaves Miami for US college job

MIAMI, United States (AFP) — Nick Saban has left the National Football League's Miami Dolphins to take a head coaching position with a US college gridiron team. Saban has decided to accept an offer to coach at the University of Alabama. Terms were not disclosed on Wednesday, but the school reportedly signed Saban to an eight-year deal worth 32 million dollars.
Saban did not address the media on Wednesday. Less than two weeks ago he told reporters that he "was not going to Alabama." However, the Dolphins said Wednesday that the coach indeed was headed there. Saban had three years left on his five-year, 22.5 million dollars contract with the Dolphins.
