SFA search for new manager as fans slam Smith

GLASGOW (AFP) — Shell-shocked Scotland bosses launched a search for a new manager as the nation's 'Tartan Army' of fans rounded on Walter Smith for turning his back on the national side to rejoin Rangers. The Scottish Football Association (SFA) said it planned to take legal action against Smith for breach of contract, although it is likely that a financial compensation deal will be reached before the dispute gets near court.

"We are looking for fair recompense for the disruption to us and the national team's cause," said SFA Chief Executive David Taylor. "That is why, regrettably, we have to take legal action.
