Racing: Levesque's Dream comes true in Prix d'Amerique

PARIS (AFP) — Offshore Dream belied his inexperience to land trotting's most prestigious prize, the one million euro Prix d'Amerique, at Vincennes.

The only five-year-old in the star-studded 18-runner field sprinted clear of his elders round the home bend to beat Kool du Caux and Kazire de Guez with his trainer, Pierre Levesque, in the sulky.

It was the first time the 46-year-old Levesque had won trotting's showcase event at Vincennes.

"It's true I was missing this from my trophy cupboard. It feels great to finally do it," said the veteran Normandy driver.
