CHANGCHUN, China (AFP) — Olympic champion Han Xiaopeng has helped China maintain their lead in the medals table with three more golds at the Asian Winter Games while Japan and South Korea battled for second place.

Despite struggling with an ankle injury, Han, 24, was in a class of his own in the men's freestyle skiing aerials and won with plenty to spare over teammates Qiu Sen and Liu Zhongqing, who took silver and bronze.

Han's victory gave China a sweep of aerials at the Games after Olympic silver medallist Li Nina won the women's event on Wedneday.

China finished the day with 15 gold medals against eight for both South Korea and Japan.
