Unbeatens Adamek, Dawson vie for light–heavyweight title

KISSIMMEE, United States (AFP) — Neither Tomasz Adamek of Poland nor US southpaw Chad Dawson has ever lost a pro fight, but they cannot both win here Saturday when they meet in a light heavyweight championship showdown.

Adamek, 31-0 with 21 knockouts, defends his World Boxing Council crown against Dawson, 22-0 with 15 knockouts, in a battle of unbeatens that heads a trio of world title bouts.

"I've trained very hard for this. I will fight to the end. I will bring the title back to Poland," Adamek said. "I'm the champion. I'm the best one right now and I'm going to be here for a long time."

Adamek has not fought a southpaw in three years and respects Dawson's skill and record but is far from intimidated entering his third title defense.
