Raul still out in the cold for Spain's friendly against England

MADRID (AFP) — Real Madrid star Raul has once again been ommitted from coach Luis Aragones's 20-man squad to play England in a friendly in Manchester on Wednesday.

Atletico Madrid's Fernando Torres looks set to lead the line against the English with Raul absent, as he has been since September.

Valencia midfielder David Albelda has been recalled to the squad along with Atletico defender Pablo Ibanez.

Aragones was in defiant mood in an interview with Spanish newspaper ABC on Friday, saying: "If they (England) beat us, they (the Spanish Federation) can sack me."

The controversial coach has kept faith with the two surprises from his previous selection, Deportivo La Coruna striker Angel Javier Arizmendi and Valencia midfielder David Jimenez Silva.
