DENVER, United States (AFP) — Marian Hossa scored two goals and set up two others to lead Atlanta to a 6-3 victory over Colorado in the opener of a six-game road trip.

Colorado's Karlis Skrastins played in his 487th straight game on Thursday to set the NHL record for most consecutive games played by a defenceman.

Hall of Famer Tim Horton set the previous mark from February 11, 1961-February 4, 1968 while with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Skrastins' streak, which began on February 18, 2000, is the longest active run in the NHL.

Vyacheslav Kozlov also recorded two goals and a pair of assists and Kari Lehtonen made a season-high 45 saves for the Thrashers, who improved to 2-3-1 in their last six games.
