British paparazzi warned off Prince William's girlfriend

LONDON (AFP) — A veteran royal photographer warned Britain's paparazzi Tuesday to lay off Prince William's girlfriend Kate Middleton, warning she might end up being hounded like the late Princess Diana.
Sun lensman Arthur Edwards also claimed that Middleton and William -- second in line to the British throne after his father Prince Charles -- are set to marry, saying he had spoken to the prince about it.
The intense spotlight on the 25-year-old has fuelled further comparisons with William's mother Diana, who was followed closely in the run-up to her 1981 marriage, and whose death is still blamed by some on stalking paparazzi.
Middleton was surrounded by photographers outside her home on her birthday on January 9.
