China panda seeks artificial paw

BEIJING (AFP) — A panda rescue centre in China is appealing for ideas on how to create an artificial paw for an injured wild female, state media reported Thursday.

Staff from the Shaanxi Province Rare Animal Rescue Centre in northwest China captured the giant panda, since nicknamed "Jiejie" or "Big Sister", after a villager saw her in a fight with three other pandas, the Beijing Morning Post said.
