LONDON (AFP) — Russian tycoon and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has divorced his second wife Irina, but insisted his businesses will not be hit despite reports Wednesday that the split could cost him a fortune.
The English Premiership football club chief's divorce was confirmed in a statement issued late Tuesday, following reports about his relationship with a 25-year-old former model.
"Mr and Mrs Abramovich have divorced in Russia on a consensual basis and have agreed terms in respect of arrangements for their children and a financial settlement," the 40-year-old businessman's spokesman John Mann said.
"Mr Abramovich's corporate interests, including Chelsea Football Club, are not affected by the divorce proceedings."
