Paramount, Daewoo unit to open SKorea movie theme park

SEOUL (AFP) — South Korean auto retailer Daewoo Motor Sales Corp. said Thursday it plans to set up a one-billion-dollar movie theme park with Paramount Pictures of the United States.

The Korean firm said it would spend 950 billion won (1.03 billion dollars) on the project on reclaimed land west of Seoul.

The park, tentatively named "Paramount Movie Theme Park," will be built on land owned by the company in New Songdo City, a planned international business center east of Incheon city which is now being developed.

Paramount Pictures will offer its licensed content and experience for the theme park, Daewoo Motor Sales said.
