Bogey-free Lee grabs two-stroke LPGA lead

CLIFTON, United States (AFP) — South Korean Sarah Lee fired a bogey-free six-under par 66 here Thursday to seize a two-stroke lead after the opening round of the 1.4 million-dollar LPGA Sybase Classic.

Lee opened and closed the front nine with birdies, sandwiched back-to-back birdies at the fourth and fifth holes, missed a 12-foot eagle putt at the par-5 11th and sank a nine-foot birdie at the 18th to complete a stellar start.

"I never played this golf course before, so I just wanted to focus on what I'm doing and hitting it on the fairway, hitting on the green," Lee said.
