SAS cabin crew end strike

STOCKHOLM (AFP) — Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) said flight schedules should return to normal Wednesday after it struck a deal to end a strike that has disrupted its Swedish operations for four days.

Some 1,200 flights had been cancelled and 90,000 passengers affected by the strike among cabin crew over wages and working conditions.

"The strike is finished," SAS Sweden said in a statement early Tuesday after talks with union leaders.

It said a new employment agreement had been struck including a pay rise of 10.3 percent over three years.

Some 800 crew members walked off the job Friday after negotiators failed to reach an agreement over terms and conditions linked to SAS's offer of a 10.2 percent pay rise.
