Players back Beckham, but it's one game at a time

LONDON (AFP) — David Beckham won universal praise from his team-mates after his triumphant comeback in Friday's 1-1 draw with Brazil at the new Wembley.

However the Real Madrid star insists he has never taken his England place for granted, and is simply taking it one game at a time as he edges towards 100 caps.

Beckham marked his first appearance for his country in 11 months by setting up skipper John Terry's 68th minute opener with a trademark free-kick only for Diego to equalise in injury-time.

Beckham brought an authority to the right-side of midfield which has been lacking and his testing crosses and dead ball skills were a welcome addition to Steve McClaren's side.

One hundred caps is now back on the horizon for Beckham after he clocked up...
