Discovery call for a return to Lance's winning ways

PARIS (AFP) — Discovery Channel manager Johan Bruyneel called for a return to the tactics which saw Lance Armstrong win seven Tour de France crowns as he announced their nine-man team for the race on Wednesday.

Levi Leipheimer, a three-time finisher in the race's top ten, will spearhead the team's bid for the yellow jersey on the July 7-29 race.

Leipheimer will be supported by fellow American George Hincapie, while Spanish trio Alberto Contador, Benjamin Noval and Egoi Martinez will also be expected to pace Leipheimer in the mountains.

Leaving behind the experienced Spaniard Jose Luis Ruberia, Belgian Stijn Devolder and Pavel Padrnos, there was however no place for American Tom Danielson, who has paid the price for suffering stomach problems which blighted...
