Chinese basketball chiefs mixed on Milwaukee's choice of Yi

BEIJING (AFP) — Chinese basketball officials gave a mixed reaction on Friday to the Milwaukee Bucks selecting Yi Jianlian as the number six pick in the NBA draft, insisting he must get on court playing time.
"I believe that this is a very good outcome," the sports website of major Chinese portal Sina.com quoted Chinese Basketball Association deputy head Hu Jiashi as saying.
"However it t is not certain that Yi Jianlian will finally play for the Bucks. In the end it doesn't matter what team, what is important is that he gets playing time."
CBA officials have long maintained that potential playing time in actual game situations is crucial to whether or not the league will release its players to the NBA.
