Sony to launch slim PSP in Japan on September 20

TOKYO (AFP) — Sony Corp. said Tuesday that the new, slimmer version of the PlayStation Portable handheld video game console would go on sale in Japan from September 20.
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. said that the PSP-2000 would have a recommended price tag of 19,800 yen (162 dollars) and come in six colours.
The revamped PSP, which was unveiled at the E3 industry conference in California last week, is said to be a third lighter than its predecessor, 19 percent slimmer and to offer improved battery life and video display.
