MADRID (AFP) — Real Madrid are reported to be planning a dramatic 60 million euro bid to lure arch rival Barcelona's star midfielder Andres Iniesta to the Bernabeu.

The move, which will ruffle more than a few feathers at the Nou Camp which last week had to stomach Argentine striker Javier Saviola moving to the Spanish champions on a free transfer, was reported by Thursday's edition of Marca.

According to the sports daily Real are prepared to buy out the 23-year-old Iniesta's contract which runs until 2010 at a cost of 60m.

Iniesta has been a part of Barca's midfield since the 2002-2003 season and has become a target for Real following the collapse of talks to secure Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas.
