Hollywood's rich and famous targeted in burglary spree

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Professional burglars have raided the homes of some of Los Angeles' most famous residents in the past year, making off with more than seven million dollars in swag, it was reported Friday.

Police and city authorities said the same gang of thieves was believed to be responsible for as many as 50 robberies carried out in upmarket neighborhoods such as Bel Air and Beverly Hills.

The Los Angeles Times reported that celebrities whose homes have been raided included country music stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as well as former Paramount Pictures chief Sherry Lansing and her Oscar-winning director husband Billy Friedkin.
