Israel considers building nuclear power plant

JERUSALEM (AFP) — Israel is considering the construction of what would be its first nuclear power plant, a senior official said Friday.
"Infrastructure Minister Benjamin Ben Eliezer has been advancing the issue of building a nuclear reactor for producing electricity," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
