Lithuanian ex-president's bodyguard shoots at chef: report

VILNIUS (AFP) — A bodyguard of Lithuania's ex-president was under investigation Thursday after he allegedly shot at a chef who refused to serve him an early morning meal during a drunken night out.
The Lithuanian VIP protection department said it had opened a probe into an incident involving Major Jonas Paulikas, who watches over the Baltic country's 1990s head of state Algirdas Brazauskas.
According to Lithuanian media reports, the heavily inebriated Paulikas, 39, got into an argument with a chef who declined to serve him at a restaurant which was about to close at 5:00 am (0200 GMT) Thursday.
Paulikas allegedly responded by chasing the chef into the kitchen and firing seven shots with his SIG-Sauer service pistol.
