ROME (AFP) — The hospital treating Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti, who was admitted with a fever almost two weeks ago, said Monday he will be kept in for a few more days for more tests.
The hospital in the northern Italian city of Modena, the 71-year-old opera singer's hometown, said in a statement that doctors would conduct several "basic pathological tests" once Pavarotti's fever went down.
These "may continue for several more days", it said, without giving further details.
Pavarotti, hailed as one of the greatest tenors of his generation, was hospitalised on August 8.
Doctors described his condition the following day as "satisfactory" and his wife, Nicoletta Mantovani, said last Tuesday that he was getting better and would soon be going home....
