'Superbad' is super good at North America box-office

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Teen comedy "Superbad" took top spot in the North American box-office this weekend overtaking Jackie Chan's action sequel "Rush Hour 3," according to final figures released Monday.

The latest offering from comedy duo Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen -- who scored another hit earlier this year with "Knocked Up" -- took 33 million dollars, box-office tracker Exhibitor Relations revealed.

The raunchy coming of age comedy stars, Jonah Hill and Michael Cera as two socially inept friends and tracks their sexual escapades in different universities.

"Rush Hour 3," the third instalment of the martial arts and cop comedy co-starring Chris Tucker, which last week opened in top place, came second with 21.3 million dollars in ticket sales.
