Man admits being Britain's fastest speeding motorist

LONDON (AFP) — A man pleaded guilty Friday to driving at 172 miles (277 kilometres) per hour in a high-performance sports car on a public road, making him the fastest motorist ever caught speeding in Britain.
Timothy Brady was caught driving a 98,000-pound (144,000-euro, 197,000-dollar) Porsche 911 Turbo in a random police speed check on a trunk road near Abingdon, south central England, in January this year.
The 33-year-old, who resigned from his job as a hire car firm driver following his arrest, was travelling at 102 miles per hour over the national speed limit for a motorway.
