South Korean rookie Oh leads Safeway Classic

PORTLAND, United States (AFP) — South Korean rookie Ji-young Oh and Sweden's Sophie Gustafson soared to the top of the leaderboard by posting identical six-under 66s after the opening round of the LPGA Safeway Classic on Friday.
Mexico's Lorena Ochoa is one stroke back and is looking for her third straight win at the 1.7 million dollar event.
The 19-year-old Oh shot a personal best six-under 66 at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club course.
"My driver was very good," Oh said. "And my putter. I had seven birdies today so that was very good. It is the first time I shot a 66."
Oh, the daughter of a Korean golf pro, said one of the biggest adjustments about making the switch from amateur to the LPGA Tour is the length of the courses.
