Ochoa surges to lead at Safeway Classic golf

PORTLAND, United States (AFP) — Mexico's Lorena Ochoa continued her march towards her third-straight title by taking a one-shot lead at the LPGA Safeway Classic on Saturday.
Ochoa fired a second round six-under 66 to take the lead over second place Sophie Gustafson at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club course.
Ochoa rolled in eight birdies and made two bogeys to reach 11-under 133 after the first two rounds of the three-round tournament.
"It was a really good day today," Ochoa said. "And I think I played just very solid, especially on the front. I hit a lot of good drivers and a little birdie chance, it just flows. It was easy."
