Yankees' pitcher Clemens gets positive news from MRI on elbow

YORK (AFP) — Roger Clemens and the New York Yankees received some good news as an MRI scan showed no serious injury.

The righthander will travel to Houston on Wednesday to have a cortisone shot on his right elbow but does not plan to miss a start.

The 45-year-old Clemens had an MRI on his right elbow after feeling discomfort in the fourth inning of Monday's loss to the Seattle Mariners. But the test did not reveal a serious injury.

It will be a whirlwind few days for the future Hall of Famer, who will try to return from Houston in time to prepare for his start on Saturday. If he cannot go, much-maligned righthander Mike Mussina will take his spot.

Clemens allowed five runs and eight hits in four frames on Monday. He struck out two and walked one...
