Willams double for US Open finalist Henin

NEW YORK (AFP) — Justine Henin defeated Venus Williams 7-6 (7/2), 6-4 on Saturday to reach her third US Open final only two days after trouncing the American's younger sister Serena.
The Belgian top seed broke serve early in both sets to put the American under pressure and despite struggling for breath at times in the humid, windy conditions, she held firm to win a top-quality match.
She was only the second player to beat both the Williams sisters in a Grand Slam tournament after Martina Hingis at the 2001 Australian Open.
Henin will now be favourite to beat Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova in Saturday's final and lift her second US Open title after that of 2003.
