Emotional homecoming for parents of missing British toddler

ROTHLEY, England (AFP) — The parents of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann flew home from Portugal Sunday, insisting they were not behind her disappearance despite being named as suspects in the case.

Health professionals Gerry and Kate McCann returned to their home in the village of Rothley in central England after flying back to East Midlands Airport, two days after being declared formal suspects by Portuguese police.

In published comments Kate McCann lashed out at the police, alleging that they were trying to "frame" her into confessing she accidentally killed their daughter in the seaside resort of Praia da Luz on May 3.
