Scotland lose Teale for France crunch

GLASGOW (AFP) — Scotland flew out for their Euro 2008 qualifier against France without Gary Teale after the Derby midfielder went down with a stomach bug.

Teale, 29, started in Saturday's 3-1 win over Lithuania at Hampden but had not been expected to retain his place in what is likely to be a more defensive formation for Wednesday's match at the Parc des Princes.

Celtic's Paul Hartley is the favourite to be drafted into the side in Teale's absence as the Scots, currently second in group E, set out to frustrate the leaders of the section.
