Top trio back for Wales rugby team at World Cup

CARDIFF (AFP) — Welsh coach Gareth Jenkins on Thursday recalled the experienced trio of Gareth Thomas, Colin Charvis and Stephen Jones for the crunch World Cup Pool B game against Australia here on Saturday.

Charvis, who scored a try against Canada, will fill the blindside flanker role with Jonathan Thomas switching positions to No.8. Thomas comes in at full-back and regains the captaincy.

Jenkins insists his men are well aware of the importance of Saturday's match at the Millennium Stadium which he called the "biggest" of his reign.

"This is a significant match for us in many ways," he said. "It's the most important match we have played during my tenure and probably the most important game a Welsh side has played for a long time.
