Britney Spears slapped with hit-and-run driving charge

LOS ANGELES, United States (AFP) — Britney Spears suffered a fresh legal setback on Friday after being charged with involvement in a hit-and-run incident following a minor parking lot scrape, Los Angeles prosecutors said.
The troubled pop princess, who was this week ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol testing as part of her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, faces an arraignment hearing on October 10, city attorneys said.
Spears, 25, has also been charged with driving without a valid California license. She will not be required to attend next month's court hearing because the allegations are only misdemeanor counts.
The charges stem from an incident in a private parking lot on August 6, where she was captured on film by paparazzi...
