Celtic to appeal Strachan ban

GLASGOW, Scotland (AFP) — Celtic have launched an appeal against the Scottish Football Association's decision to only halve Gordon Strachan's four-match touchline ban.
Strachan hoped to have his suspension quashed at an SFA hearing on Tuesday, but instead the Scottish champions' manager was told he will still be banned for two matches.
He was punished after being sent to the stands during a match against Hearts at Parkhead on April 29 after an altercation with referee Stuart Dougal.
Strachan faces a third ban after being sent to the stand by Charlie Richmond following an argument with a steward at Aberdenn in August.
But a Celtic spokesperson said: "Clearly the club is surprised and disappointed with the decision and we will be lodging an appeal."...
