Liverpool merit respect but not fear says Marseille coach

LIVERPOOL, England (AFP) — Marseille coach Eric Gerets said Liverpool merited respect but that his side would not be in fear of them in their Champions League Group A match here on Wednesday.
"Liverpool are one of the best teams in Europe," said the 53-year-old former Belgian international captain, who will be taking charge of Marseille for the first time in a match since replacing Albert Emon last week.
"They merit a lot of respect but we shouldn't fear them."
