Denmark's Prince Joachim to marry Frenchwoman

COPENHAGEN (AFP) — Denmark's Prince Joachim, fourth in line to the throne, will marry his girlfriend of several years Marie Cavallier in early 2008, the royal palace announced on Wednesday.
Queen Margrethe "gave her consent to the marriage of His Royal Highness Prince Joachim and Miss Marie Cavallier. The wedding will take place in spring 2008," a statement said.
After the marriage, Cavallier, 31, will assume the title "Her Royal Highness Princess Marie".
Cavallier is currently a member of the Roman Catholic Church but will join the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Denmark.
She will also apply for Danish citizenship and will renounce her French citizenship.
