England rugby hero Wilkinson feeling sick to the stomach

LONDON (AFP) — Jonny Wilkinson revealed Monday he felt sick to the stomach and wracked with anxiety after booting England into the World Cup final.

The fly-half said he was aching all over and barely able to sleep after scoring a late penalty and a drop goal on Saturday to earn unfancied defending champions England a 14-9 win over hosts France in the semi-final at the Stade de France in Paris.

"I got one hour's sleep on Saturday night and yesterday I felt again as if I had a rotten hangover," Wilkinson wrote in The Times newspaper.

"When I did go to bed, I slept for about an hour but these grazes on my knees were burning and I couldn't have the bedsheets touching me, and I had a pain in my stomach and my back.
