Boeing reshuffles executives amid Dreamliner delay
0 Comments | AFP, October, 2007
NEW YORK (AFP) — US aviation giant Boeing said Tuesday it had reshuffled several top executives just days after announcing a six-month delay on initial deliveries of its highly-touted 787 Dreamliner jet.
The company's chief executive, Jim McNerney, voiced disappointment last Wednesday over production setbacks affecting the 787, as Boeing battles with Europe's Airbus for supremacy in the global aviation market.
In a significant management shake up, Boeing said Pat Shanahan, a company vice president, had been appointed general manager of the 787 program with immediate effect.
Shanahan replaces Mike Bair in overseeing the 787 program. Boeing said Bair will become a vice president for business strategy and marketing for its commercial airplane division.
