Bruce reveals Bolton approach was turned down

BIRMINGHAM, England (AFP) — Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has revealed Bolton have had an approach to speak to him about their vacant manager's position turned down.
Bolton are searching for a replacement for Sammy Lee, who was sacked by the Reebok Stadium club on Wednesday, and Bruce was high on their list of candidates.
But Birmingham rebuffed their approach, leaving Bruce in limbo as he waits to find out if the club's prospective new owner Carson Yeung wants to keep him.
Bruce has been unsettled by talk that Yeung will replace him when the Hong Kong businessman finally takes over at St Andrews.
Bruce's contract has 20 months to run but he wants to know where he stands.
