LONDON (AFP) — Troubled British rocker Pete Doherty vowed Wednesday to turn over a new leaf as a judge freed him from conditions imposed to curb his drug problems.
The Babyshambles frontman has been under court supervision for 18 months, but a judge at Thames Magistrates' Court in east London said she was revoking the last six months of the order because he appeared to be changing his ways.
"You must be pleased," she told him at his latest supervision review hearing, while stressing the ruling was not the end, but a new beginning. "I wish you well," she added.
Speaking to reporters outside the court, Doherty said: "I have just had enough really... It's just the beginning, you know what I mean. My life has changed."
