LEIPZIG, Germany (AFP) — The first ever exhibition of paintings by folk and rock legend Bob Dylan will go on show in the German city of Chemnitz on Sunday.

The director of the city's Kunstsammlungen museum said it took only two days to persuade Dylan, 66, to put the 175 watercolours and pastel drawings on show.

"I think he was delighted that somebody was interested in showing his paintings," director Ingrid Moessinger told AFP.

She said after Dylan agreed, he completed 320 portraits, landscapes, still lives and nudes over the course of just eight months and allowed the museum to choose from the collection.

Dylan will not attend the opening of the exhibition, which is titled "Bob Dylan -- The Drawn Blank Series", because he will be playing a concert...
